Every year Deborah is invited to lead arts enrichment workshops in storytelling, music, drama, and integrated arts for students and educators. Some of her workshops are listed below. For Storytelling Programs click here.


Cool Body Jive (grades 4 - 6)
This integrated approach to music composition invites students to explore the kinesthetic aspects of creating sound scores. Participants sing, draw and dance their way through the multidimensional exercises. Activities are based on Deborah’s book, The Jumbo Book of Music (Kids Can Press)


Sing Me A Story (grades 2 - 8)
Deborah spins stories from around the world and students collectively put them into song. Rhythm, rhyme and repetition are reinforced through alliteration, assonance, simile, metaphor and other literary devices.


Masked Play (grades 4 - 8)
Students explore aspects of physical theatre by using neutral masks. For longer programs students create Commedia dell ‘Arte masks and act out a story.


Bullying Workshop (grades 1 - 8)
Deborah uses story, song, mask and role playing to help students recognize the problems of physical and verbal bullying. Students experiment with dramatic techniques to get a deeper understanding of the choices one can make.
